Swiss company SKIN46 has developed a way to make tattoo ink from human material, allowing you to get a tattoo made from a family member, friend, loved one or pet's hair.
The first woman to get a tattoo is a model called Makani, whose ink was infused with cat hair from her cat, Gizmo.

Andreas Wampl, found of SKIN46, said: “The idea of SKIN46 tattoo ink starts some seriously spirited conversations
“Some think it's offensive, while a huge amount of tattoo lovers thinks it's an amazing concept.
“We expect this to draw a lot of attention both to our crowdfunding campaign and to SKIN46 in general. Tattooing needs this kind of fresh spirit.”

To make the ink, SKIN46 extracts carbon from the hair and through 65 steps, converts it into tattoo ink.This results in a completely unique tattoo ink, based on the person or animal whose hair it is made from.

So far Makani and Andreas are the only people to be tattooed in this way.But SKIN46 will soon begin crowdfunding on Kickstarter , opening the door for others to get their loved one’s hair tattooed.
